Urmston Bookshop opened at the end of October 2010. Owned & run by Peter & Frances Hopkins (Billy’s & Laura’s 3rd child & his wife) and they are very excited about their new venture. They stock a wide range of titles for both adults and children together with some educational toys & games. They also stock signed copies of Billy’s new novel, ‘Big Mama’.

 

Jazz with a glint in its eye!  Oscar performs the hits and popular music of the 1940's with his all star band of virtuoso swingers: double bass, piano, sax, drums and vocals/trumpet - for your dancing, listening and party fun.

The Oscar Bernhardt Ensemble play music from an era of swing, latin, blues and jump jive; songs penned by the likes of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin etc and made famous by Sinatra and the Rat Pack, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and more recently, Jamie Cullum, Harry Connick Junior, Robbie Williams, Michael Buble etc.

 

 

 

 

Bill Keeth lives in Middleton, Greater Manchester. He has lived in and around north Manchester all his life and worked for many years in Manchester schools. He began writing as a founder member of a writers’ workshop at Manchester College of Building. His debut novel, Every Street in Manchester [ISBN 1859880657] was shortlisted for the Portico Literary Prize, and is available from all good bookshops, including Waterstone’s, Borders and Amazon. What follows is a suggested traverse of the Pennine Way, south to north, that would take 19 days in all, and would afford easy access to vigil Masses at St Stephen’s, Skipton (SA1800) by Pennine Bus from Thornton-in-Craven and at Our Lady of Appleby, Appleby (SA1800) by taxi from Dufton.
